Translink Corporate Finance #1 M&A powerhouse in the Nordics

Translink Corporate Finance was named the top M&A Financial Adviser on the Nordic M&A leaderboard. The ranking is based on the recently published Q1 2021 Refinitiv deal statistics for deals below $50m. In the midcap category with deals up to $500m, Translink was ranked second in the Nordics. Translink also gained seven positions to secure the 11th place in the European wide rankings.

This ranking recognises Translink’s role as the leading M&A adviser in the IT and in particular the Software-as-a-Service and eCommerce industry sectors. Translink’s Nordic team of 25 professionals supports mid-market companies, private equity firms and corporates in realising their M&A objectives.

Some of the notable deals facilitated by Translink in the Nordic countries include Smartvatten’s sale to Norvestor, IP-Agency sale to BHG Group and the acquisition of MMD Networks by Miss Group.

Tero Nummenpää, Managing Partner of Translink Finland, and Chairman of Translink International comments:

Translink’s top position is a true recognition of an outstanding year. The Nordics team based in Helsinki, Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm advised on 18 transactions in the first quarter of 2021, ranking us at the top of the league table based on deal volume. This achievement confirms that we are making an impact for our clients and continue to be a leading M&A adviser in the Nordics. The feedback from our satisfied customers is very positive, in fact our customers do our marketing for us by showcasing our deal expertise which refers more deals. We have convincingly outperformed our peers.”

The number of small-cap M&A deals worldwide valued up to $50 million reached US$51.5 billion during the first quarter of 2021. This is an increase of 30% compared to a year ago and the strongest opening period for small-cap M&A since records began in 1980. Other trends show private equity buyers executing more than double the number of deals than a year ago which is the strongest first quarter for small-cap private equity-backed M&A on record.

Translink is well positioned to facilitate these disruptive M&A trends. Its offers specific expertise in IT, eCommerce and SaaS industries not only in the Nordics but on a global scale, an integrated service approach to transactions and a global network that delivers unparalleled access to buyers and sellers.
